Round 22

Remember, feedback on artwork is appreciated and encouraged.

Sorry for the break between rounds, everyone- things have been pretty crazy at home (i.e. Halo 5 and Fallout 4). This round’s subject is the result of a lot of time driving alone, and I was thinking about why a Sangheili’s mouth looks the way that it does. What did their ancestors look like? And then I started thinking about an idea for the next VTHU topic.

Subject:

Origin of Species

Specifications:

Depict an ancestor one of the following Covenant species: Jiralhanae, Kig-Yar, Lekgolo, San’Shyuum, Sangheili, Unggoy, Yanme’e, or Yonhet

The last round was all about illustrating a described character, but this one might require a bit of critical thinking and a lot of speculation. Do a little research if you need to (for starters). Also, it might help to look up Earth species that are similar to the species you are designing an ancestor for.

Good luck! I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone’s speculation! Remember you have two weeks to submit your entries.

And feel free to let your friends know about Visualizing the Halo Universe! The more people participate, the more great artwork we all get to enjoy!

Round 21 Results

During Round 21, participants were asked to create their vision of Thel ‘Vadam’s ancestor, Ther ‘Vadam.

From Halo Archive, we have Erickyboo’s depiction of a freshly-escaped Ther wandering the deserts of Vadam.

SilentA98, despite having not read The Cole Protocol, was able to come up with this gladiatorial-esque portrait of the legendary Sangheili warrior.

SuzyM came up with this illustration of Ther ‘Vadam and a loyal follower on their way back to Kolaar Mountain, preparing to reclaim Ther’s home.

I, TDSpiral, wanted to create an image of the legendary, purple Sangheili-blood colored river of Vadam.

And Bryan Newman from HBO created this sketch of a grizzled, battle-hardened Ther.
